If you think that SCCT is just providing Greenville with a few family-friendly plays per year, then you are missing out on the absolute trove of treasure we have! For years, since long before this beautiful new building, my kids have attended performances and classes offered by SCCT. For the wee ones, they have free tell-me-a-story performances a few times per month where tiny kids can begin a lifelong relationship with theatre in an age-appropriate setting. From there they can move into summer camps on everything from musicals to popular culture to stop motion animation and more. There are also year-round classes that last about 6-7 weeks per session where kids can really experience theatre and all its parts. The second stage shows are a perfect step for the kids too little to sit for a long show, but too big for tell me a story time. And the main stage shows? Excellent, professional level productions featuring kids (and adults!) from right here in Greenville. There is not a bad seat in the whole theatre, and with snacks available for purchase, you can truly make an event out of attending a show. I took my 8-year-old to see the most recent main stage production of Annie and it was FANTASTIC. (My daughter was glad they didn't have the scariest bits from the movie included in the story. lol) The highlight *possibly* being that Sandy was a real dog! The experience is meant to be very accessible to children as the productions are for and by them, so definitely consider looking into ALL of their offerings!

Amazing group of people, from the staff, director, actors, and their families. They have great programs for kids, the musicals are amazing. My kids have been a part of many. Nice environment. The only thing I've expressed that I wish could change is the limited amount of parking and getting in and out can be difficult. But Meghan Kegeris and Peggy Trecker White are nothing short of amazing! Really great directors and people!

I absolutely loved seeing the Children’s Theatre production of “Annie” this season! They did a masterful job of telling the emotional story of Annie’s “hard-knock life”, and how she overcame so much!! The amount of work the cast, crew, & production staff put into this show is obvious from the first note. And the talent that is shared on stage is impressive to say the least! How blessed is Greenville, to have such an amazing selection of theaters and so much local talent, right in our own backyard? If you have a chance to go see this show (and if they’re not already sold out) I highly recommend doing so! It is suitable for the entire family – though if you are unfamiliar with the script OR if you have very young ones in your party, you’ll want to do your due diligence as their parent/guardian to ensure you have no objections to the script prior to purchasing your tickets. Some elements, such as alcoholism, child labor, fraud, etc. are in the script — as that is how it was written and because it is integral to the storyline — but all are handled in a VERY family-friendly and respectful way. And all are portrayed as the negative elements that they are. It is obvious that the entire theatre has put their heart and soul into this production and their work should be celebrated. Annie is a smashing success!! Bravo again to all the actors and crew — Well done!! 👏🏼 I personally can’t wait to see what SCCT does next.

SCCT provides a wonderful atmosphere for individuals to experience live theatre. I recently attended a sensory friendly show and was blown away by the thought put into all of the details and such a welcoming, inclusive environment for all.

Love this space. It is such a great place for families to enjoy shows with their children. Stage and seating are brand new and very accessible. Show schedule offers great variety for young and older children alike. They also offer very popular afterschool and summer programming for youth who want to get involved in theatre. A real gem in Greenville Countys arts community
