Popular casual spot in Marco for pizza, salads, and Italian sandwiches and dishes. There is also a bar, occasional live music, and both indoor and alfresco seating. The Italian Deli can get busy in the late afternoons, so you may have to wait for a table. Order at the counter and the friendly staff will bring your food out shortly. We had the calamari, wings, and a Kitchen Sink pizza, all very good. The bar can make all your favorite drinks and is a popular watering hole, especially during late afternoons when people come in from the beach. A great place to stop for dinner or drinks and a snack whenever you are on Marco Island!
We bought containers of food to go but the place was definitely busy. The eggplant rollatini was cooked the way I like it - no skin attached and no bitterness the meatballs which I am really funny about I really enjoyed ! They didn’t have a bounce when you placed your fork in … it cut right through the meatball (I’ll be back for these for sure !) the eggplant tasted like New York and Jersey for me !
I had the roast beef sandwich and it was delicious. I agree that the bread is the soul of a sandwich and this bread was delicious and freshly made. The roast beef was tender, moist, and cut perfectly. This sandwich didn't try to be anything other than a plain old roast beef sandwich and that made it special. This was a takeout. There was live entertainment while we waited. Very busy even for the off season. I'll definitely be back.
Italian Market under new ownership (Tony who is truly a gem! we had the pleasure of meeting him and chatting for quite sometime! Super personable, determined to make your dining experience truly wonderful.) - again- under new ownership, we HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The food is outstanding. As former NY/NJ residents, we have lived in Florida for 11 years and we haven't had the bread alone as good as we did on our sandwiches. If you live here in Florida, you know the best Ny tasting bread is a hard find. The pizza was fantastic! Our family opted to try a little of everything, and not one thing disappointed. The Limoncello cake-simply outstanding to finish things off. Marco is a phenomenal vacation spot and dining can be extremely expensive and you do not always get a meal that matches the price. Here you get a meal that exceeds the cost. We cancelled fine dining last night to get take out this time we dined in on Sunday) and sit on our balcony enjoy an amazing hot meal and watch the sunset. Both were priceless. If you have the opportunity it is a must. (If you get the chance to meet Tony while you are there, it's even better.)
My wife and I love the Italian Market and Deli located in the heart of Marco Island! They have excellent Italian food served any way that you would like. There is dine in with a wonderful atmosphere. Live music playing, everyone singing and having a great time. Do not forget the to go meals and desserts. The cashier Mikala has a great smile and was more than happy to check on me and insure that I had every thing I needed. Then one of the new owners (Joey) checked on me as well. I can tell they are going to deliver great food and great times!
