Purchased a veg pastie and it was mushy inside and although the pastry was nice it left a fatty residue on my palette. I threw most of it out and got a lamington. The lamington was sticky. It was not like a sponge cake it was like a sticky pushy pudding inside. Yuck 🤮
Started with 5 stars when I walked in. Large range of delicacies including Kitchener buns. No apricot slice though. Prompt service. Star dropped only when my order of small black coffee arrived as flat white. New travel mug tainted with milk. Barista worked quickly to rectify but travel mug wasn't rinsed adequately. Lactose intolerant. Would have been an interesting morning had i consumed the flat white. However be sure to visit this outstanding Bakery.
So delicious and tastes home made - everything. Such variety yummy yummy. Worth a visit.
Rhys Pitson’s work at George’s Bakehouse is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment you walk through the doors, the standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail is unmistakable — and that consistency speaks volumes about the leadership and skill behind the scenes. What sets Rhys apart is his clear dedication to quality. Every product reflects a deep understanding of traditional baking techniques while still feeling fresh and relevant. The bread boasts perfect structure and flavour, pastries are beautifully laminated and balanced, and the overall presentation across the counter is both inviting and refined. There’s a confidence in the execution — nothing feels rushed or mass-produced. It feels intentional. Beyond the food itself, the operational flow and customer experience suggest strong organisation and pride in the workplace. Standards are high, yet the atmosphere remains warm and welcoming. That balance is difficult to achieve, and it speaks to someone who genuinely cares about both product and people. Rhys Pitson’s contribution to George’s Bakehouse is clearly a driving force behind its reputation for excellence. His work reflects professionalism, consistency, and a passion for craft that elevates the entire business. A true asset to any hospitality operation — and a name associated with quality.
Mushroom pie was underwhelming, top sagged without a lot of filling, taste was ok. My partner said the spinach and feta roll was ok (taste), but once again the filling was lacking. I seem to recall previous visits being better.
