Dear Friends, just wanted to share a recent experience with BEAR's plumbing company. We had to change washers in 1 faucet and replace 4 cartridges in 2 commercial faucets and the company charge me 200$ on the first visit for evaluation and washer change in 1 faucet and then I waited for about a week for the cartridges to arrive and then charged me additional $540 to replace the 4 cartridges. On each occasion, they charged me a trip charge of $40-$50 along with $140 labor. The labor could not have been more than an hour and a half according to my calculation. And the total cost was $740 for the job. A job of this caliber, should not cost more than $250-$300. Not to mention the marked up price on the cartridges at $70 a piece which is probably not any more than $20-$30 market price. This is fraud billing and my personal recommendation is avoid this company and stay away from them !!!

We had an amazing experience working with Bear's Plumbing on a variety of jobs, including replacing shower pans and drains, replacing a tub stopper in a cast iron tub, installing new cartridges in showers, setting a new sink and faucet, and installing new shut-off valves for our dishwasher and ice maker. We plan to install a new Moen Smart shut-off valve on our main water line and Bear's will be our first choice to do the work. The team of Caroline and Ritchie in the Service department were so helpful with obtaining permits and selecting the right products for our renovation and repairs. Adi the plumber did great work and really went the extra mile to confirm that we were happy. On time and under budget is the bottom line. Five stars all around.

We have used Bears Plumbing since 2013 for both large and small jobs and have always been satisfied. After our latest interaction we are not. Plumber #1 responded to service call for hot water re-circulation pump not working. He replaced a T-valve, charged $287; a paid invoice would be emailed. Subsequent service call - the pump was still not working. Plumber #2 stated he was surprised Plumber #1 didn’t notice the pump is seized up and needed replacing. He said service dept. would call. After no call back we called Bears: replacement estimate $913. When asked about a discount to account for the $287 previously paid the answer was no, all the while acknowledging it was possible we paid for something we didn’t need and that we still don’t have a paid invoice for.

Had them install a dishwasher, replace the hot water knob under my sink and install a shut off for the dishwasher and change out my washing machine faucets. Great no hassle service, nice guys who knew what they were doing. I'd say very reliable service at a moderate cost. I'd rather pay a little more for a well known local company.

Spent $49 on a trip charge to have them misdiagnose a problem and give me a sky high quote. Would have spent $625 and not solved anything. With an hourly rate of $149 that was not disclosed to me beforehand, I decided to call another company with an hourly rate of $99 who solved the problem immediately. I asked to speak to a manager but my call was never returned. A waste of 50 bucks, glad I went with my instincts and didn't authorize anything further.
